I would be curious to hear from those of you who have made your own baggage slings out of nylon or other material. How did you attach it to the airframe parts behind the seat, and would you do something different if you were to start over again? Pictures would also be appreciated. Thanks!

I made a baggage sling for my Onex from some light weight black canvas the width and length of the baggage compartment with a nylon rope looped around the top of the sling. Next I installed eight pop rivets with a short piece of 1/4 alum tubing at each corner and in the middle of the baggage compartment angle and bulk head, this is were you slip the nylons n rope over to hold the sling in place. One other thing I did was add a thin piece of plex glass to the bottom of the sling which holds everything in place. I have a picture somewhere I will see if I can find it to post for you.

Brent...sounds pretty simple and light. Please do post a picture when you find one. I would like to incorporate something simple like this.

Lots of different ways of doing it but here's a picture of mine http://sonexaus.wikispaces.com/Peter+Anson+-+Sonex+894. (Scroll to the bottom of the page.) It's very light and the elastic net allows it to be over filled with bulky but light stuff like camping gear. A stretchy zip-up top would be ideal but I'm not much at sewing.

Here is a picture of my baggage sling. Not the best picture but maybe this will give you an ideal. You can make sling as deep as you need, mine is about 8" deep.

My wife sewed a baggage sling out of ripstop nylon in a half-barrel shape, 11 inches deep in the middle, secured by sticky-back velcro tape. Has worked well for three years.
