Hi,

I was wondering if any here have replaced their flywheel bolts on a Jab 3300. I will be replacing mine soon, and was hoping to be able to do it without removing the engine. :?

Anyone do it with the engine still installed? any Gotcha's or things to look out for?

Thanks,

Kevin K.

Hi Kevin,

There has been an intensive conversation on the Jabiru Yahoo group lately about flywheel bolts:

Dunno if this helps ...

I replaced mine a couple of years ago. The only way to get access is to remove the engine. I left the engine hanging from an engine hoist so I didn't have to disconnect all the thermocouples, just the carburettor connections and a few electrical connections. Like many of those jobs, it wasn't too bad but the hoist was essential.

Peter - Why did you have to remove the engine ? I replaced mine with no problem with the engine in place. I only had to remove the alternator plate from the rear, and the bolts were easily accessible.
