Considering a combo Paint and polish scheme. Should I paint and then polish or polish then paint? Not sure what Nuvite will do to the paint if I paint first.

You can do it either way. I'm doing a paint and polish finish and have picked and chosen what gets what. I've done my whole tail In a "red tail squadron" theme, and am polishing the fuselage. When I get to the wings I plan to prep and paint the areas first, then tape off the paint and finish polishing. I would not apply Nuvite over paint just to be careful. (although I think the finer grades are rated as paint safe).

I would polish first then tape and paper the areas you want to keep polished .Then give a light scuff coat to the previously polished areas before painting. To do the reverse and not break through the taped off painted areas when polishing is nil to none .I am considering the same thing and this is how I will do it.I should add that I am an experienced painter and polisher in my previous work at the Ford Motor Co.
Good luck and send some pictures when your done.
Cheers.

Be sure to do the heavy polishing work first. I have found that touch up polish does not hurt the adjacent paint, but doing the initial polish next to paint would be sure to damage it even if attempting to keep it taped over. MUCH easier to polish skins in the flat than after installed anyway.
