Well after removing my gascolator and insulating my fuel lines Sonex 541 has been running great , ( knock on wood ) , the only problem I been having is on climb out , if I climb out at 3200 rpm , 70to 80 mph my egt on one side goes to over 1500 , went to 1560 the other day , I been throttling back to 2900 ,3000 on climb and around 90mph and the egt drops , the chts are perfect and never get hight always stay within 325 on climb and lower in cruise at 2900 rpm , just the dam egt goes high , I was thinking about backing the mixture screw out a half of turn , I'm running a revmaster ,

1560 ?!? YOWSA!

I don't like that my Jabiru hits 1350 on climb out. I'm not familiar with the revmaster, are you using the recommended prop pitch? A finer pitch "climb prop" will cause higher EGT''s than a slower turning "cruise prop". What EGT's are you seeing on the other side? Do you think it could be fuel distribution? With EGT's that high I would think you would need to make your full throttle mixture quite a bit richer.

I'm with Kevin. I'd start turning the needle richer. I can't believe your CHT's don't skyrocket like that.

On my AerVee, I try to adjust it so my sustained full throttle climb is at around 1200-1250 degrees on the hottest EGT.

Are you sure you don't have bad/old plugs or too retarded ignition, or some other ignition fault. If could also be your exhaust valve(s) starting to get tired. It sounds to me these high EGT readings suddenly started?

New plugs , electronic ignition , revmaster engine , so no timing to adjust , it's has always been high i am just waiting for a day when the winds are less than 15 knots , cause it's been windy for weeks , to back it out and go for a flight

I have the 2300 Revmaster and they emphasise that you need to ensure that you get to full rich ( ie correct injector size , and they also have a ground run procedure in their manual to establish this), otherwise yes, high EGT's on climb out on full power.
