I use a MakerFarm printer (because I had a gig working on the Marlin firmware most 3d printers use). However, there are two I'd recommend:
* Anything from Prusa. They are widely regarded as the best unless you want to spend >$1500. Approx $700, good build volume, just works, super good support.
https://www.prusa3d.com/ (note - there are many clones, unless you want to futz with them a lot, just buy the real thing. You can buy it as a kit, it is easy to assemble). Can actually print replacement parts for all the plastic parts on the printer (the hw and sw are open source).
* The Monoprice printers are quite nice considering their low price - $160-$300.
