Australian Recreational Aircraft Airworthiness Notice

Recreational Aviation Australia have released a General Airworthiness Directive that refers to Sonex aircraft with swaged cable and thimble assemblies i.e. Waiex and Xenos.

Interesting Peter; thank you for sharing. Do you know which incident caused this action? I have not heard of this.

This non compliance was picked up when doing the final inspection on my aircraft prior to registration. My Waiex has not yet flown (no incident has occurred). I do not no if it affects any other planes but is worth checking.

In my line of work we make cables exactly as shown in the notice. The tool used to make the crimp needs to be calibrated for proper operation.
