Linear Actuators?????????

Thanks Skippy, yes I'm guilty of thread drift and should have forked this off to a separate thread. [my bad]
Yes, I used a linear Actuator to control the flaps.

I will forgive you if you IF you tell me what brand & model of LA you use. Any other specifications, eg extension length, how many hours in service, etc. A photo otr two would also be much appreciated.

Here is a picture of the guts. I modified this actuator to give me the 'throw' that worked best for my installation.

Aaaah!

Looks pretty heavy duty - unlike the mini LA's I have tried to use. Even has adjustable length stop system.

Can you remember any details of supplier, brand, model, specifications???

I unscrewed the "piston" end coupling and replaced it with a custom modified SS Allen key/socket head screw. This gave me the ability to fine tune the closed position - in my design more critical than the open position.
