oilite bushings lubrication

What do you use to lubricate oilite bushings at each annual?

Is there a spray lube that is good for this, or do I have to disassemble things each time?

Is it better to just trust that they are pre lubed for life?

Note: I also forced more oil into them upon assembly by squeezing oil between my thumb and finger as I learned during my mechanical apprenticeship years ago. Seemed to hold up for many years just by doing that on generator bushing etc.

Hello! first NOT wd40! Or 3 in one. I have used spray white grease for the outside areas, after dribbling TRI FLO ptfe lube on the bushings. I do agree with the finger squeezeing, but I am not really wanting to take things apart that far unless there is a real problem. Of course, how much TT is on the mechanicals may determing how many times relube may be necessary. Bear in mind, N502PD is still a youngster at 82 tt, but I do relube. Let us know what you decide to do! Happy Hollidays!

Thanks Joe,

I only do the finger squeezing the oil in when installing new, the airframe only has 35 hours, so I definitely won't be taking them apart yet unless I find an issue with any of them. Maybe I will start re-lubing with some sort of spray lithium or graphite grease but for now, I think everything is still too new to be of any benefit.

Wondering what most people are using? I might also reach out to Sonex to see what they do with their fleet or maybe they will chime in here.
