Elevator Pushrod Guard

Postby sonex1374 » Sat Mar 28, 2020 3:21 pm

With time on my hands these past couple weeks, I finally got around to fabricating a set of covers to protect the elevator bellcrank and pushrod. I filmed a short video showing what I did. Hopefully this will help future builders devise their own solutions.

I did a similar thing. I attached it with velcro to make it easy to remove and inspect underneath. With all this pandemic craziness going on I, like probably a lot of you, have many things on my to-do list for my Sonex!

Thanks for the idea. I will be making one during the aviation shutdown.

Nice! Great safty tip!. I dont fly with much baggage in place, but out of general principals, I now have a couple of things to do awaiting mud season to be over, and for general shutdown due to covig 19 restrictions. keep up the good work and videos!!

I also did something like that. I made a floor to my baggage area so I wouldn't dent up the bottom skin. The floor and floor ribs are 0.025" and the side skins are 0.016 2024T3. Here is a picture during construction.
