Dynon Avionic: SV-GPS-2020 Now Shipping, v14 Released

The new SV-GPS-2020 GPS Receiver/Antenna from Dynon lets new and existing SkyView and Advanced AF-5000 series customers add a 2020-compliant GPS position source for ADS-B Out for only $590. As a drop-in replacement for the existing SV-GPS-250 receiver, owners of existing systems do not need to run any additional wires, coax, or install any new boxes in their aircraft.

Hi all,
Good news, will be ordering one. I looked at the dynon site, more reading , and info, and the online store listing the SV-GPS-2020. $590. The old SV-GPS-250 SIL/SDA now electronically reporting value of 1, so u can get TIS-B traffic thru ADSB. Need to download SV Version14.0. I wish dynon would sell the memory sticks with the latest software. Not always around a full computer, usually just my iPad. We will leave our old GPS-250 installed for dual redundancy. Just use a new serial port for the 2020. Anyone else doing the same?

Also , where u going to mount the receiver? Our old 250 was on the glare shield ahead of the instrument panel, underneath the lex an windscreen. Reception good. New instructions from dynon suggest mounting outside of aircraft. Any ideas?

Inside under the glare shield will be just fine. It just needs a horizon to horizon site so that it can acquire all of the required satellites.
