It's been months of researching, learning from everyone on this board and searching the market, but I can officially say today that I own a Sonex!
I want to first give a special thanks to Bill. Bill, without your help and patience I would never have been able to buy with confidence. You have already taught me so much and I am in debt to you.
I now have a Sonex tri gear with an Aerovee 2002 engine. The air frame is mostly complete, the engine needs assembly, and I have to build out the firewall forward, panel and all controls.
I'm going to begin with some planning:
To sell the 2002 for a 2.1 turbo or add the turbo to the 2002?
Selling the new prop for a turbo prop.
Selling the stratomaster and associated units for a Dynon Skyview or MGL Lite?
1 or 2 landing lights?
Factory brakes or hydraulic brakes?
Add the extended tank now or later?
So many decisions which add nice features but also weight.
