Cleco smiley

Postby mfazio » Wed Nov 12, 2014 6:21 pm

I unfortunately have a couple of smiley face dents from clecos on the top of my right wing. Any advice on how to repair or at least make it less noticeable?

I was planning on polishing...

Park it so the sun hits them in the eyes!

When I have dents I use an auto body dolly and a plastic hammer. It won't be perfect but I can usually improve it enough that emotionally I can move on. I haven't had cleco dents yet but while polishing I caught on the corner of a stabilizer skin. Later Adam got the aft corner of a tailcone skin. You will still be able to tell. Most people won't ever see it.

Fortunately did not have any of those. Have heard of some that have worked out the smileys with a spoon from back side. Can testify that the soft plastic nose pieces for clecos are worth the price, but even better find the correct size of "CapPlug" order a few hundred, and drill or punch the holes in end yourself.
