Anyone planning to fly somewhere to see the eclipse? We haven't picked an airport yet but probably somewhere between Carbondale IL and Columbus, IN. Will be a 250-300 NM trip.

Our buddies are ditching due to winds. I think we are going to shoot for an 0630 departure and fly to Benton, IL H96. They have a lounge, crew car, plus walmart/McDonalds in walking distance.

The crosswinds in the afternoon may be too hairy for Poplar Grove, as the grass runways are soaked and closed by notam. But we can stop at KDKB on the way back, get gas & food, and wait until sunset when they are supposed to drop off.
