Welcome and congrats on taking the plunge! Are you going to document your build on here or somewhere else?
I wanted to build, but my wife made it clear I didn't have time to right now.

Hi I'm Chris and there is a sonex Legacy A kit at The EAA 40 hanger at WHP. Congrats and I've been lurking and waiting to get my own now for quite a while... even before I moved to SoCal. Classic Problem: Time = no Money, No Time = have money.

So to answer the handful of questions, I will be documenting the build both live on twitch.tv/lakespookie and using the EAA builders log webpage for the FAA requirements. I got a chance to see Jim Hicke's Waiex at KRNM and watch him work on it for a bit. And have been planning on taking the plunge for a while now but I was waiting on getting my PPL, Currently at 80 Hours If all goes well I should have that in 2 weeks time, but we will see given the lead time of the kit I figured it would help to order it now. Plus now I am committed now that there are parts on the way.
P.S. there is never enough time or money, If you have the space and enough to get started get started. even if it takes 10 years as long as you pull some rivets wevery few days it will eventually get done.

Welcome to the forum! I'm new here as well but my project I'm picking up next week is mostly complete. If I like the plane well enough then I may build one down the road sometime!

Nate,
I would love to chat and talk a bit about your powerplant currently planning on a turbo aerovee but I am also considering the corvair and the jabiru.

Sure, anytime. You can come to KSEE and see it for yourself. We’ll go fly if the W&B works.
