Hi from Holland

My name is Hans, and together with my flying-buddy we're planning to build us an AeroVee driven Wayex.
I've just finished the build of my Kitfox Classic IV (Rotax 912, IVOprop. Have a look at http://kitfoxclassiciv.blogspot.nl) and I just loved the build. Now we'd like to build an all-metal plane, preferably one that is slightly faster than the Kitfox.
I hope to read lots of stories from all of you, and to put lots of questions in here, myself.
Greets,

Greets,

For the occasion, I'm going to do this one in Dutch (just this once):

Hallo Hans,

M.v.g.
Michael

Hi Hans,
Welcome to the Sonex Group. I am from Australia but originally from Holland 33 years ago.
I can speak and write dutch but explaining about my Sonex is easier for me in English. I start building Sonex #1430 January 2011 and after 3.5 years the plane is finished and test flying. It has done 5hrs now. My test pilot is very happy with the the handling and the performance of the Sonex. He found it very easy to fly and hard to stall (36 knots)
I had some issues with the Aerovee Engine especially the Nikasil Cylinder, they have now been changed without charge by Sonex with the Mahle Cylinders. The adjustment of the Aeroinjector is a bit tricky and after changing needles from #2 to #2.5 and some adjustment, the engine is running very well now. :D The plane has flown 2 hours with the new cylinders. Performance: cruise at 100 knots using around 18 l/hr but this will improve after engine has ran a bit longer. I particular loved building the plane.
The middle of next year we will be in Holland and if you like I can visit you. I grow up in Noord Holland (Grootebroek). I think there is also a sonex builder in Andijk and one is flying from Lelystad.
If you like you can contact me direct by email in Dutch: p.a.bakker@internode.on.net
Cheers,
Peter Bakker
