Waiex Builder in Mojave

Hello all, Waiex builder Nick checking in.
Glad to find that there is a proper forum structure that has started up for us Sonex builders. While there is a lot of great info and some terrific people over on the yahoo group.. i find the format too frustrating and archaic to check on a regular basis. I am envious of the forum that the RV guys have over at Van's Air Force and was hoping for the day when one would start up for the Sonex family. Hopefully this will become the place!
Just a tad about myself - i am 28 year old guy who happens to be building Waiex # 142 in my free time. I worked as a nuclear engineer for five years but left the job to pursue what i was really passonate about. Now i am an design engineer working for a small, but well known aerospace company out in the desert. As far as the build goes.. i have the wing spars, control surfaces, aft fuselage, and tail done. Currently on the forward fuselage, and motivation is still high. When she is finished, she will be a Waiex of the tail dragging, 3300 variety. I have some crazy ideas for the pannel, as well as some modifications to the stock airplane that i may toy with.. but ill save those details for another time.
For now, its just good to find a proper forum and i look forward to sharing ideas and keeping up with folks here!
