ready to retire

Postby richward » Sat May 03, 2014 12:42 pm

My name's Rich and I live on Long Island in New York. I'm soon to retire, and want to build, probably a Sonex with tri-gear. I was wondering if there is a "tools and clecos co-op," and/or a "hints for Sonex homebuilders on-line library." All encouragement and cautionary tales are welcome. Thanks. -- r

Hey Rich,

Good to see you on the site! Out of curiousity, where on Long Island are you located? I fly into ISP quite often for work and have explored a lot of the area.

As for online assistance, I would recommend you start by visiting two places. The first is the Sonex Builders and Pilots Foundation website (www.sonexfoundation.com) for a lot of good useful information on building and flying.

Second, check out the main Sonex website (www.sonexaircraft.com) and then click on the link called 'SUPPORT' in the top middle of the page. This should bring a drop down menu where you can choose a lot of good options to explore, including Instruction Sheet and Video Tips. I think you'll find a lot of good information on there in terms of what you need to build.

Let us know what other questions you have, and again, welcome!
