pitot drain

I guess this is mostly aimed at Kip (I hope you don't mind me calling you Kip even though we've never met) and Bryan, because I'm not aware of any others although I'm sure they're out there.

I couldn't stand it and went ahead and installed a stabilator-tip pitot. My question is, as indicated in the subject line, did either one of you install any kind of drain or trap along the air line? It almost seems necessary as the pitot is higher than the airspeed input.

I did not. If I get water I'll disconnect it from the instruments and blow it out. Used to happen all the time on my Blanik L33 Solo.

Never any water. I'll admit I have never removed my tailcone cover after a rainy excursion to check the low spot but there is never any there during the condition inspections. There are a few couplings in the system that will allow access if it ever happens.

I don't have a low spot under my tailcone cover. The tube goes straight down to an elbow fitting then straight forward. Maybe there is a low spot under the bulkhead when the tail is down.
