Waiex rear spar carrythrough question

Hey guys,
For the rear spar carrythrough they gave me the Sonex part. The Sonex part has two big holes in it compared to the one big hole the Waiex calls for. Do you just hack in a hole where needed?

Hey Bryan,
I'm fairly certain they cut one hole for the Sonex with the lowered seat mod and the other hole is for the old style seat. Just pick and use which hole you need and don't worry about the other one.
Have fun!

Thanks Mike- one question on that though. The plans have you locate the 1 3/4" hole 19 9/16" from the edge, and neither hole lines up with that.

Hmmm...good question on that one Bryan. In that case I'm going to hope someone else can chime in and offer a suggestion on this one! Sorry!

I don't have my plans in front of me, but I seem to remember the plans incorrectly providing a dimension to the edge of the hole instead of the center (or vice-versa) on my Sonex. I ended up cutting the hole in the wrong place and now have two overlapping holes (like a snowman). Can you hold the piece near the elevator idler to see which hole is correct, or if maybe the correct hole hasn't been cut yet?

I'm pretty sure I used the dimensions on the plans for my waiex and everything lined up like it was supposed to. I think I would check with the factory because it looks like a mistake to me.

I had to enlarge one of the holes in that part, neither pre-punched hole is in the correct location. If I recall, the dimensions in the plans were correct.

So I chucked my rear spar carrythrough in:
I have to look at the plans page for the controls but I think this looks good:
I am assuming the control rod goes on the left side of the idler in the picture. View is looking aft.
