Still chugging along. I have been locating the parts with a few clecoes and having Adam come behind and finish piloting and updrilling.

I very carefully framed this pic so the whole tailcone and right forward skin would be in the frame, but these PHP boards seem to cut off the right side of the photo. You have to click the photo and go to photobucket to see the whole thing.

So Bryan -- do the longerons and cross-pieces come pre-piloted in the kit? -- Ihab

Ihab,
With the machined angle option they do. The forward skins only have the vertical line of holes where the forward and aft fuselage join. So, you transfer holes from the angles to the skin.

Oh interesting, thanks. I wonder why they don't pre-drill the skins also -- my assumption is that the skins would be easy to punch holes into in the process of making them; it's machining the angles to size that would require more setup and specialized CNC stuff. -- I

For the builders who do not spring for the $1900 machined angle kit there is no good way to transfer the holes from the skins to the angles. What would be sweet is if they gave us two holes for each angle, that would locate the machined parts and the guys who fab their parts could transfer those holes later.

I finished drilling and deburring the right side. I know these pics are pointless, but you know....

Pics are never pointless. Keep them coming.

I flew over Poplar Grove this morning on the way up to Janesville. Are you home any weekdays. I could drop by with 982SX. Not a Waiex, but you can't hold that against me.

I always like to visit projects being worked on.

Bob,
I am generally working weekdays but would be willing to take a half day of vacation sometime, especially if I could get my first Sonex ride out of the deal!

Last year Adam and I made it out to the Great Lakes Sonex gathering and we enjoyed your presentation.
