Riveting in progress:

All the riveting is done except for former #1. We are leaving the ability to pull out the front bulkhead for deburring.

Six bolts on the top longerons and we are done tailconing. Onto the front!

Did the 6 fun bolts in the back of the tailcone. Here is my tool for getting the bolt started:

Here is the tool for pushing the bolt in place:

Used a looong extension from the bottom with a wobble adaptor to hold the bolt. Here they are done:

Past my bedtime again - whoops!

We started the firewall. The movers had deystroyed my radius nosebar for my brake. I had made them out of flashing. I had Adam make another set- a good way to learn about setback, clamping, and layout of bends. First part goes to the fuel filler compartment:

Have fun, my son just completed his 1st Boy Scout camp - it was wet and muddy all week, hopefully the weather is better for your troop.

First for my boys too. Not for me, though truth in advertising regulations require me to admit my last summer camp was about 32 years ago. Looks like a couple days with rain then it should just be mosquitoes.

Survived camp. Lots of fun and mosquito bites. Two evacuations for tornado danger, at 1AM and another night at 9PM which was practically civilized. Can't wait to go back.

In the meantime Adam has learned the joy of drilling stainless.

Does that cordless drill spin at the usual 1200rpm? I found in my various travails that a faster drill makes a big difference. I never went all the way to pneumatic, but the following corded drill is really light and easy to handle and is my favorite:

Always heartwarming to see a young guy in the workshop building stuff!

Ihab,
We used the recipe of a cobalt bit, oil, lots of pressure and a low speed to keep from heating up and hardening the steel. Thanks for the positive feedback! Having 4 hands makes this job a lot easier.
