What RPM for cruise?

Postby VillaAir » Thu Jun 20, 2024 9:53 pm

Hey Folks,

Working on phase 1 flight testing of my OneX I purchased earlier this year.

I've got the 80 hp Aerovee with a Prince P-Tip prop and am wondering that RPM is common for cruise.

At 75% power, assuming 3300 rpm, that would be 2475 but only 60hp. My OneX flies fairly slow at that setting.

Let me know what you use for power settings.

Thanks!

Per the manual, cruise RPM is 3200 +/- 200. We usually cruise about 3150. 3200-ish at full throttle and 80kt climb is not the same as 3200-ish at part throttle in level flight at ~100kts. So RPM does not directly equal HP, unless you are full throttle. 2475 is insanely slow. Probably good on gas though.
