My idea to safeguard the plane from random button pushers is
Ignition on toggles.
Starter button, but with a keyed on/off switch in the starter button circuit. Already have the keyed switch, it can just sit there with the key in and turned on all the time, except when I want to safe the system I turn it off and put the key in my pocket.
