ADS-B antenna mount

Has anyone tried mounting a uavionix “skyfyx” antenna on a bracket, on front of the turtle deck, inside the cabin, above the seats?

I bet it would get a good signal there, but seems like it might interfere with the canopy frame or be in the way when you get in the airplane. I mounted mine on the glareshield.

Good points. I’m going to measure things and analyze it some this afternoon. I’d like to avoid a long antenna run vs. a power wire, drilling the glare shield, and having a white antenna on the black surface.

Mine is mounted roughly in the center of the glare shield, painted flat black. Double stick tape holds it in place; no need for a bracket. Has worked like a charm for 2 years.

Mine is on the glare shield as well. Double sided tape. I figured it was one of those “no not paint” items, so mine is still gloss white. No issues with reflection.

I contacted uAvionix and they said no problem painting the GPS. I used a can of flat black Rustoleum.
