A question for Matt, Did you apply the ultra black during installation or after? I am thinking it will be difficult to apply during assembly as it will probably move around as the windshield is moved into position on the skirt.

I have flown both my legacy Waiex and my B model Waiex in the rain with no ill effects or windshield/canopy leaks. I seal the windshield to the airframe using black weather sealant, the brand doesn't matter too much. If you want a really clean installation, apply the sealant after the windshield is mounted to the airframe in either model, legacy or B. Use the masking tape method to apply a really clean bead of sealant and simply wipe it with a damp finger. As soon as you are done, remove the masking tape carefully and you will be left with a job that looks like Safelight put your windshield in.

The tape is positioned on the airframe directly on the metal edge and about 3/16ths of an inch onto the windscreen itself, leaving a 3/16ths gap between the two. If you aren't familiar with this just do a youTube search for ways to use tape to make a clean caulk bead.

Nothing to it. It will take longer to mask than to seal.
