Dual sticks for the Sonex-B?

Postby juz10mac » Tue Aug 11, 2020 1:28 pm

Hello,

I've been interested in Sonex for a number of years. I attended a builder's workshop back in 2015 and I'm finally getting serious about building.

I'm still doing a bunch of research, and I'm leaning heavily towards the Sonex-B.

I have a question about the Sonex-B: The only control options I see listed on its info page are a single Y stick. The A model however had dual sticks as an option. Can dual sticks be set up on the B model as well?

At this point dual sticks are not an option for the B model unless you want to engineer the entire setup yourself. On the A models the area under the seat pan has room for a welded stick assembly that supports dual sticks. On the B model the seat geometry is different and the area under the seat is full of support ribs.

Anything is possible but if you want dual sticks on a B model it will be an engineering project for you! Thus far I don’t believe anyone has attempted it.

Beat of luck on your build decision!
