Sonex Builders Checklist

Postby N418SX » Wed May 15, 2019 3:48 pm

We picked up a fuselage kit Sunday with Plans #1710. The seller did not have the Sonex Builders Checklist book. A search of the Sonex website and Google did not produce anything. Does anyone have a copy we can borrow to duplicate?

I too have a need for this, particularly at the drawing level. Please let me know if you find anything.

Thanks,

I don't think that it actually exists! I believe that the plans contain all the info you need. I know that this may cause your head to explode but the system does work. I'd been building for a couple of years before discovering that there was a material planning guide! I cut my parts out completely different from what was suggested and only ended up purchasing 2 extra sheets, one of those was due to being a complete numpty when making the leading edges for the wings.
Good luck, I recommend more coffee and head scratching.

The building tree page in the blueprints(plans) basically IS the checklist. You pick the bottom of a branch and work your way up through the pages.Eventually it will join another branch, which also needs to be completed (bottom>up) before you can proceed from where they join.

I cut out the building tree page and stuck it on the wall. I would x off each box on the tree as I completed the pages (and usually added the date for posterity) and eventually you end up at the very top box, Aircraft Complete!

Actuall it does exist. We found one less than 40 miles from our hangar.
