after running the starter with out firing the engine you should see some oil pressure. Cool off the starter motor and top off the oil to compensate for filling the oil galleys and oil cooler. You should see a little higher oil pressure. The fact that you are seeing some pressure shows the pump is primed and working. On start up the pressure should come up to the normal range. I ran 50 psi in cruise with the turbo. I also had a mechanical oil pressure gauge as the VDO was never right. Your millage may vary!
