Thanks Michael! We are definitely trying to hammer this thing out.

To all of you who told me my instruments were mounted too low on the panel - you were right. For the CDI, and more surprisingly for the breakers and cigarette lighter plugs we had to hack the crosspiece. What I decided is to make .040" doublers not only to reinforce but also to mount the throttle, trim, and mixture. In the dial-a-trim kit they give you a big hunk of extrusion.

Here Adam is laying out the bend lines for the doubler.

I certainly have the technology to calculate bend radius, but I taught him the shop way. I prefer that way myself. Carefully measure and bend scrap, adjust, and when it is figured out do the real part.

You can see all the scrap parts. The final part nicely nests between our subpanel and crosspiece.

The radios should be good when we pull G's. I have one angle for each corner and will probably ditch the gnu vise in favor of a flush #6 screw.

The little angles will rivet to the tank cover. I will join the angles with a screw and nut.

Hi Bryan,
Make sure u have enough room behind the radio and tpx trays for d sub pin connectors and coax plug ins etc. ref the fuel tank. keep plugging away, always good to see you and adam making progress!

The picture is not a good perspective to tell, but I do have room. As you can see my trays are wired and I am well within the rivet line for the tank angles. I measured before, and I'll have less than two inches but it should be sufficient.
