Thanks for the replies guys! My hangar is heated and I can roll the Waiex right below the heater. It does seem to make sense to do the windscreen and then the cowl. That way I can trim the cowl to make a smooth line with the windscreen. I will mount it as high as possible.

What first-cowl or canopy? I would like to minimize or eliminate the coke bottle look.

I did the windscreen, then canopy, then cowl. I followed the plans for canopy and windscreen bows. It gives smooth transitions when viewed from the side.
With the canopy and windscreen bow radius, look very carefully at the plans on how the dimensions are annotated. In my plans forward canopy bow SNXD02 04 is shown outside radius. The windscreen bow SNXD02 03 is shown inside radius. I missed this minor detail/trap and cut my first windscreen bow 2" too short. :shock: Fortunately I realized before cutting the windscreen. It would have had Dolphin nose for sure if I didn't replace the bow.

When viewed from the front all Sonex's with a flat wrap windscreen and standard canopy will have some degree of dolphin nose down the sides.

I did the cowling first, then worked back. The prop hub on mine is further forward then most but I would still work front to back regardless. Engine mounted, cowling on (I found the cowling the hardest part to get looking right anyway). Straight line back to the windscreen bow, the canopy can then be jiggled around some to get that looking right.

I have a couple interferences to clear. The right rudder cable exit is a little high and the trim spring mount on the control frame is gouging the seat pan.

I think I want 3" of cushions. Partly for visibility, partly to protect me from the nut buster aspect of the stick design. I don't think I am the target audience for the lowered seat mod.

I think I'm going to make a second seat pan that can be swapped out so I can do lowered or high depending on who is flying. Well see. Does not look like much to have that option.

My thought is removable cushions. When my 6'3" buddy visits I'll pull the cushions out of his side.

We finished cotter pinning all the tail controls. Then we started laying out our panel. Adam cut out and bent up the blank for our sub panel.
