Meanwhile...
Here I have removed the spar tunnel and deburred the 1/4" holes.


Then the parts get clecoed back together while the 1/4" hole is pinned with a piece of drill rod.


I temporarily riveted it together with aluminum flush avex rivets.


Now I have a flat surface I can clamp to the drill press. The drill rod is chucked up to locate the piece.


I updrilled in the usual steps with the final pass being my .3725" reamer.

Right side riveted up, except for the two I have to redo and the one in the corner.


The secret weapon here is to take a cheapie HF hand riveter and grind the tip rather than use a wedge. It gives you more clearance.

Then I clecoed on the floor. Here I am laying under the airplane.


All the floor holes still line up nicely. The forward floor details and aft spar are riveted. Still a few rivets on top of the tunnel and on one of the aft angles. After I figure out bolting up the trim spring mount it is time to put the floor on for good!

Looking good Bryan.
I am big a fan of leaving the floor off and make riveting it the very last job on the plane. It was much easier to do the plumbing, wiring and making any changes sitting on a floor creeper underneath the plane than doing yoga, upside down within the plane. The added bonus of having no floor is that the fuselage is almost, self cleaning.

By the looks of the picture of you lying down under you airplane I would have a difficult time polishing my plane if I had to look like that everytime I looked at myself in the polished metal. Just kidding :lol: . I only wish my polishing job was as good as yours. keep up the good work

Time to change the pace up and work on some avionics / wiring and build that AeroVee! Before you know it all you will have left is the dreaded windscreen/canopy and cowling...
