Got the wing walk installed and updrilled. Getting it around the leading edge and then getting the bottom clecoes to line up was "fun." But, I persevered though it was tight.

I am closer to victory on the wingtip. Here it is clecoed in:
Image
On the bottom flange I have some self-induced edge clearance issues. I didn't understand the fit of the tip. I had started on the bottom and that was a mistake. On the top flange it appears it is too narrow and I am missing edge distance on a lot of holes. I also plan a ply around the flange so the skin is not pulled down.

It is hard to tell in the photos. Did you notch the tip at the wing spar? It's a dumb question I know

[quote="Bryan Cotton"]Leading edge in process. I need to flute a few ribs a little more to get the blue line where it needs to be in some of the most forward holes.

When you fluted the ribs, did you also do the same on the bottom flange? I have a few also that need to be slightly adjusted to bring the blue line into the hole. Just wondering how it worked since you woudn't be able to flute once the skin is wrapped around the bottom and that line needed tweaking.

Ken,
I did not flute the bottom, just the top. Thought I might need to pull the skin to flute for that last hole on the bottom too but did not. It was a very small adjustment. The blue lines on the top were probably not as true because the top flange out by the tip was very wavy. I trued that up after I drew the blue lines and should have done it before. The bottoms have less curvature and looked fine so I did not have to work those flanges.

The wet layup fairy did not show. Probably too snowy. Got the truck stuck by the hangars, got it back home, then walked over. Rolled up my sleeves and got to work:

The flashing worked good as a form. Released without any wax.

Glenn,
If you ever need an excuse to buy a finished airplane, you could always say it was to skip the fiberglass work. The itchy part was yet to come in that last post. I itch right now. Trimmed flanges:

Here is my technique for pushing the tip forward:

Strap goes around LE so you can use a lever to jam the tip in without the wing sliding.
