You can get a 12" snake from Sears for about 12 dollars, but they don't last long .

I broke my first one after years of use. I used to use corded drills but that is bad, because if the bit stalls the torque can really twist up the snake. Air or clutched cordless works well. The Terry Tools snake drill is US made and good quality. Sears is anything but these days! Sad.

You guys make it look so easy! Half way through the left wing ribs now that the annual has been done, just doing the rib flange clean up.

Thanks Ken! Half the battle is convincing yourself that it is easy.

Here is my wacky looking setup to true up the wing:
Image

I recomend marking the centerline of the aft spar attach bolt before you rivet the aft spar on. Or for that matter before you rivet the part to the spar.

Starting to cover up the ribs. At this point the skin is merely clecoed to the aft spar.

I am thinking this is a good time to get pilot holes in the aileron hinge. Will probably use just the skin as a template.

Realized I needed pilot holes in the hinges:

I used the other skin to put pilot holes in both hinges. I recommend doing this before you get really going on the wings. Do the flap hinges too.

I sacrificed a 48" aluminum ruler to pre-drill all of my piano hinges. One edge of the ruler has the setback for the structure half (I believe I used the stab skins as a template early in the build) and the other edge has the setback for the control surfaces. I used this ruler throughout the build for pretty much all my hinges. The piano hinge holes are pretty much always 1" apart on the whole airframe (1 per lug), just have to be consistent with the proper setback for each piece.

This setup ended up being handy later in the build when doing engine cowling hinges, seat pan, etc. Plus the ruler is still usable as a ruler!
