Bryan,

I assume after you finished posting those pictures last night you polished that skin, and made Adam stay up to debur and rivet all of those angles to the side?

Looking good!

Nope - actually took last night off! I was tired.

October looks to be a busy month. Our troop has two campouts and a high ropes course which will eat 3 weekends. On the free weekend I have outdoor leader training. At work we are starting the replacement of a motor and drive for a test stand, from the old technology to the new. That is my project. Also have to travel to Michigan to accept two other new test stands. I think this will be one of life's interruptions on progress. I probably should have stayed up to polish then made Adam rivet.

My F15-03 rudder pedal mount angle fit poorly. I got it to work on the right side, but the left side was awful. From the prints the parts looked ok, but there was no spec for the holes in the .063 angle. I concluded that some CNC holes were placed badly. Luckily I had a nice piece of alodined 7075 with an angle bent on it. I will prime it too.

Edit: the iphone changed angle into accessory. Good thing the darn phone can't pick up the drill.

Left side is all drilled and deburred. Both sides just need edge finishing and polish. Then some rivets.

A pile-O-parts.

Edit: I looked ahead a page. After polishing and riveting, next up is cockpit assembly. Exciting stuff!

The polishing has started. Adam and I got this far in 30 minutes.

I think the left side needs one more pass of F9. Right side is set up for the next father-son polish mania.

Now I see your secret for fast polishing! Forced child labor! I like it!

It's great to see your son keeping an interest with the project after the first year.

No forcing there - however he is a teenager and has school, friends, and activities. I do a lot is drudgery at night and pull him back in for the fun stuff. Sometimes he gets away from the project and that is ok.
