Other VW (Revmaster, Great Plains, Hummel), Corvair, Viking, etc. ****THESE ENGINES ARE NOT FACTORY APPROVED.****

I have the standard Sonex VW mount but my bushings that came with my Great Plains engine seem to be too big for the engine mount. Has anyone experienced this before? I am not sure if the bushing I'll compress enough to make it fit snugly around the tube that the bolt goes through.
See the attached picture for an idea of what I mean. I thought of ordering the Aerovee bushings but they would not fit the accessory case that I have either, it has tapered bushing holes.

You are correct. There is an adapter bushing that slides over your mount and fits snuggly inside the bushing. I have a RevMaster engine with the same mounts. Revmaster makes a hardware kit to adapt their bushings to a Sonex/Onex motor mount. I would call Great Plains and discuss it with them. Im sure they have a fix. If not call RevMaster.
