Has anyone installed a hydraulic lifter kit in their AeroVee engine?

Make sure they have stock, ready to ship, for real - before handing over any money.

My teacher (Veeduber) and my research suggests they are NOT a good idea for Type I VW Aeroengines that don't run every day. Due to peculiarities of the lifters commonly used, and the oiling system of the VW, they leak down and clatter badly upon startup. Also, if you have Elephant Foot valve adjusters, they NEED a little lash to "pump" oil into the interface between the body of the adjuster and the foot. And you will need an oil filter to keep mung out of the tiny passages in the lifter = weight + Complexity + more places for oil to leak + potentially harder to cowl the engine.
