Hey all

So I need to use Loctite 272 on my flywheel gland nut, and both the manufacturer and several distributors say it is not available. They also said there is no equivalent.

I find this hard to believe. I know a couple of others have recently needed this stuff. Anyone have a source or an alternative?

I did get Loctite 270 but it has a lower rating

I bought some at my local auto parts store. I do not plan on using it again for a long time and If I do I will buy new so it is fresh. I think it cost $14.00. I am happy to send it to you today via USPS priority mail. No cost to you. I just ask that this one makes the rounds to anyone who wants it. Just let me know. It will take a few days to get to you. The same goes for the starter loctite. That one cost a bundle. I can send you that one at the same time.

The brands that I have are made by Permatex. They are equivalent products to loctite brand. I will send you both. I had to order the one for the starter. These were both surprises for me. I went through the instructions and did not find them until I needed them.

Would this (Permatex 27200) not be an equivalent product? $9 on Amazon.

That is what I sent to Robbie along with the Permatex 262. I do not plan on using it on anything else yet. They are only used on the gland nut and starter bolts. The 2 bottles were well over the 5 dollars it cost to ship USPS Priority mail. I figure it can make the rounds to anyone who needs it until it is empty.
