I had my exhaust ceramic coated by a local company here in the Phoenix area. Since I haven't run the engine other than my initial start I don't know how well it is working yet. It cost me $225 to coat both inside and out.
My fuselage is at the painters so I haven't been able to see if the replacement body for the aeroinjector fixed my stuck throttle.

Follow up to my Stuck Throttle issue.

On Wednesday 12/23 I got my fuselage back from the painter. So on Thursday 12/24 I was able to try the engine again. I had replaced the throttle cable with the thicker new style cable. I also replaced the body of the aero injector with the new style that has the bushing where the needle slides in and out. Kerry had sent me the replacement body just before my fuselage went to the painter so I didn't get to try it until now.

Success.

I was able to start the engine and the throttle moved freely between around 1000 and 2000 RPMs. I didn't want to try any higher because my oil temp has only up to about 80 degrees. The OAT was 58 degrees (cold for Phoenix). I know that the aerovee manual has a minimum oil temp of 160 degrees. I assume that applies to full throttle, takeoff, flight. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what limitations they apply to the minimum oil temp?

Now I need to work on adjusting the mixture. It runs better with the mixture almost to the cut off position.

100 degrees for full throttle and takeoff. Verified by Kerry.

Ken nailed it! You want to run your engine on the ground until the oil is at a minumum of 100 F before applying full throttle on takeoff.

In cruise it would be deal to have your oil in the 190-210 F range but sometimes in the winter that's tough to do. It needed block your oil cooler so you can at least get the oil to 160 during cruise.

Glad the throttle body is fixed!
