Automotive plugs with the crush-type washer like we use on AeroVee engines don't really have a "torque spec". You are supposed to run them in until the gasket contacts the head, and then tighten them a quarter turn. It turns out that a quarter turn after gasket contact equates to about 12 lb-ft.
