Boost Pump

Hi All,

For a 912ULS - please advise which 12V boost pump? you are using and why?

I note that:

Rotax recommend a boost pump Max pressure of 4.5 psi.

It would seem that all Facet pumps, with a Max pressure of up to 4.5 psi, have a 1/8 27NPT In/Out port - this is significantly reduced when an AN fitting is attached - does anyone have a problem with this restriction? and if so what is your solution?

FYI:

RV-12 recommendations are for Facet Cube 40135, Pressure Max/Min 7.0-4.0 psi - well above Rotax recommended 4.5 psi

I use 40105 FACET SOLID STATE FUEL PUMP which is 3 - 4.5 PSI. I have a bypass with check valve so it supplies plenty of gravity feed to engine fuel pump when not in use and supplies plenty of volume when turned on.

Thanks Murray,

Did you read the Vans RV-12 advisory I posted? - Reason for advisory: low fuel pressure at TO/Climb Out, sound very much like what I have been experiencing.

My cube had no markings, so not a Facet - possibly a Goss, Sintex or generic. I have no idea of claimed performance - would see up to 3psi on pre start check.

Rotax Owners Forum -The Rotax experts say Vans advisory (to 7 psi) okay .

I have ordered the same pump as Vans recommendation for installation during current revision of fuel plumbing.
