How did you drill F07-09?
Posted: Fri Jul 26, 2024 11:49 amF07-09 that attaches the glareshield to the firewall has some holes that are under the bend in the upper firewall. Unfortunately the pre drilled holes are in the glareshield so some of these are covered completely by the lip on the upper firewall. The far let and right ones are fine, but the holes near the centerline are a problem.
I have a few ideas:
1) Put doublestick tape on F07-09, alight it, then remove the clecos from the firewall and drill them while the parts are off the fuselage
2) Put a larger hole in the troughs of the bends of the upper firewall to provide clearance
3) Go for it on a steep angle with a smaller bit and then updrill while off the fuselage.
Im interested to hear how others addressed this.
