EAA KIT Weight & Balance Form

The W&B form that came with the EAA registration kit says that min fuel is calculate using (HP/12) x 6. Is this value, approx 50#, suppose to be used in both the most aft and most fwd table? It would seem to me, I'd want to use zero for the most aft case.

I used zero gallons/pounds for fuel for the most aft case. That reflects reality, so I think it's more appropriate to use on the W&B.

My understanding was to do the W&B for most aft case using two standard FAA 170 lb pilots. On my airplane you can't get to zero fuel and be in the envelope. You need 4 gallons.

I think you may find you can do zero fuel when solo, but not two up.

I've enclosed the W&B I submitted for my airworthiness cert. That's all it is - in the real world if you want to make sure you are good at zero fuel you need to run the particular numbers.

The turbo and cooler adds alot of weight upfront, the result being with a 170# pilot & 170# passenger mine is still within the aft limit with 0 gallons on board. I will not be flight testing that scenario tho...

Here you go! I've also got some calculations for ballast and so on - tweak with your own numbers of course.
