Stabilator tips

About to start working on the stabilator tips. Anyone know how much these need to be reduced in size? Not really sure how much to cut off and if this is really necessary. Thanks!

Here is where I worked on mine:

You need to trim enough so the trailing edge of the tip lines up with the ruddervator. Because the leading edge is angled, the more you trim the more the trailing edge moves forward. You really need to jam it forward to get a nice fit, glass to aluminum.

The secondary thing is to have the right gap between the ruddervator and tip. You may need to trim that separately.

How much? Guess and check. Easier to take more off than to put it back on.

Assuming the Legacy and the B-model tips are the same, you will have to cut a step into the aft portion of the tip to clear the ruddervator. The amount to be removed is about the same as the depth the tip enters the stabilizer for attachment.
