Sonex B Tail Kit CCC/SSC Rivets

Postby pfhoeycfi » Wed Mar 28, 2018 1:25 pm

The tail kit came with a package of 10 CCC-42 rivets and a package of 10 SSC-34 rivets. They are on the inventory list as well. I cant find the call out on the dwgs. I emailed Sonex...ng...

As soon as I drill the wrong size hole I'm quite sure I'll find out where they belong.

Anyone have a clue what they are for?

I think they are for riveting the elevator horn to the ribs and the optional bracket if you go with the manual trim lever.

Oops, I'm not sure now as I used the normal rivets except for the nut plate in the horn for the trim cable clamp.

I think the smaller -3x rivets are generally used for installing nut plates

If you look at page SNX-T07, they are to hold the nut plate on if you are putting the trim tab on the elevator.

I think what happened was Sonex removed the tab from the B tail detail but didn't remove the rivets from the hardware package.
