Hi Guys,

That wasn't at all what I expected.

I don't want to be too pessimistic, but zoom in on the rivets of the "wide angle" shot. It may just be the way I'm looking at it but the rivet holes look to be badly over-sized. It looks like one of the pulled rivets doesn't even reach the edge of the hole.

I'm also curious about the aileron push rod. Mine were steel with high gloss black paint. I don't remember any "Made in USA" marking.

I can't tell if the holes are oversized, but I hope that aileron pushrod is not conduit.

!!! What is that "MADE IN USA" pushrod/shaft/tube material? !!! Not factory supplied pushrod as far as I can tell.

I have several sizes of 6061-T6 tube and all are marked Made in USA. No such markings on any of the steel tube I could find.

Hi Guys,

Maybe it is conduit for wiring.

I'm with Bryan in thinking it was just an assembly error. As he said, it was drilled and dimpled, but just moved out of position when they riveted. Easy fix, and if that's the worst thing you find, you're in good shape.

As for that aluminum tube, I'm assuming that's wiring conduit. I could have used that today running wires to my lights.

I have the B model and the Aileron pushrods are Aluminum just the same as Vans uses. Maybe the Onex uses Aluminum too.

The b model aileron pushrods are aluminum and they look like conduit. They look like the ones in these photos. I wouldn't be surprised if the onex is the same.

Unless they changed it, which I highly doubt, the Onex uses steel pushrods. Also the picture that shows the conduit says second rib in from tip, meaning the outer wing panel. It's not an aileron pushrod.

Thanks for the help!

It's going to take a little while to get to, but I'll post pics when it's fixed.

I've been going over the build with a fine tooth comb. So far, other than a few wire connectors, this is all that I've found.

I'm going to have my IA do the conditional in a month or so and we'll see what he finds
