Anyone got a good design for running the power out to the wingtip for strobe / nav lights?

I ran plastic tubing through the 1/4" tooling holes in the leading edge ribs. Then I pulled the wires through. Easy.

Check out the video around 4:00.

Hey Brian, I think you missed the part of the question that states it’s a OneX.

I used connectors similar to the one shown in this link: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/kcw-10633?rrec=true They come in many different configurations - number of connectors, number of rows, and size. You'll need to do a bit of searching to find the best part for your needs.

Here is a picture of my setup on the left wing: https://www.flickr.com/photos/52501459@N07/15832734456/ Supports strobes, navigation lights & landing light. The left wing uses a different connector because that wing doesn't have a landing light. Enjoy!

Scroll to near the end to see the door jamb connectors I used. http://www.onexmike.org/inner-wing-build.html

Does the Onex not have 1/4" tooling holes in the ribs? I guess otherwise it would be different at the fold point.

Not sure what you mean by design - running wires, connectors, or what?

I ran my wires for the wing tip ights with 4 conductor shielded wire and I ran it through a plastic tube to protect the wire. The only issue is that when I fold the wings, I have about a 4 ft piece of 1 X 1 wood that I keet in the hangar. As I am lowering the wing, I am pushing on the tubing to make sure the tubing folds into the wing as it should. I have not had any [problems so far.

I used molex connectors anchored at the folded end ribs, ran the wires through snap rings in the ribs attached to a spring at the wingtip rib that allows me to raise and lower the wings with no problems. The proper spring maintains light tension on the wires for ease of operation. Works for me.
