Koger Sunshade in a Onex

Postby WesRagle » Fri Aug 28, 2020 8:42 pm

Hi Guys,

Has anyone here installed a Koger Sunshade in their Onex?

I found this on the Pilotshop web site:

"
I purchased the wide tip-up sunshade for my Sonex OneX. The wide shade is designed for side-by-side Sonex aircraft (Sonex, Waiex, Xenos) but it fit the OneX just fine. Very easy to install, just follow the 2 page instruction sheet. Easy to open and close in flight. Highly recommend.

I couldn't find one that was specifically for the Sonex, Waiex, ...

Thanks,

Wes

Talk to Koger he has a list of what fits the various airplanes. Mine was for a specific RV but it fit the Sonex. I have had it since first flight and can’t see being with out it.

I wrote that post on the Pilotshop web site. They got the inital of my last name wrong, but it's me.

Shade was very easy to install. I've used it this summer. Great addition.

Wes, like Bill said.........call Koger @ (515) 230-2700. The sunshade for the Sonex is 30" wide and you may find that a bit wide for your Onex as I find it almost too wide for my Sonex. I have to duck my head to see very well to the side when it is fully extended. I believe Koger makes some narrower versions or he'll even make a custom one just for you. These things are a little pricey but a gotta have just the same.

Edit: before calling Koger it might be a good idea to take some measurements in your Onex as to what area of the canopy you would want to shade......could be helpful to Koger.

Thanks Guys,

I'll take some measurements next time at the hangar and give Koger a call.

I'm hoping that as Fall approaches I'll be able to fly in the middle of the day for a change. It would be nice to do that without getting baked :-)
