F17 - Question/Issue

I am working on F17 currently and have a question for the community. As you can see in the picture, F21-07R has an slant to it when attached. Both sides have the same (5/32) gap. When I look at the bend I made, everything looks like but I get the sense that this should be square to the vertical for later when "north meets south". Can I get some recommendations if this was my error that needs fixing or have others seen the same thing and it's less relevant based on something later in the build that I have not uncovered thus far. Thanks in advanced.

Those brackets take a LOT of filing to fit properly. The vertical bracket should nest inside the larger bracket as shown, or at least I hope this is correct :D

Cheers,
Rusty

Thanks for the pictures. That shows me what I thought originally. I need to get F21-07 vertical in order to support the joining of the two halves. I pretty much thought that was the case but it never hurts to ask. :) BTW: What technique dd you use when filing the chamfer? Vixen files or a bench grinder?

I used some really old Vixen files for the rough part, and a Scotchbrite wheel on a bench grinder to finish covering the shop with dust :-)

Running into this exact issue myself right now. Simply replying to confirm Rusty's solution of adding a radius to the back of F21-07 plates to be a solution to the fitment and nesting. I've got one of them almost perfect, but it's definitely working.
