I ran across a small turn buckle that worked very well in my nose gear steering to tighten the rudder cables. It doesn't require safety wire, is adjustable with an allen wrench, and at the smallest, about 2 inches long. It will take clevis ends, ball ends, cable bushing, or a cable holder to pull in the middle of a loop like our hand brake cable. If I new how to add a picture I would show you how I used two of them at the steering arm springs to adjust mine. Email me and I'll send a copy.
