On my last long Xcntry across the great state of north western Texas, I found myself longing for 6 more gallons of fuel on board. On two fuel stops, I landed with VFR minimums. There's a lot of nuthin between fuel stops down there.

Thanks for all the ideas, I will probably make a behind the seat tank. One of the reasons I want the Onex is to go visit family...but they all live at least 1,000 miles away. The extra fuel will just allow me to fly a little faster to the same refuel spot.

I have done 5 hour legs in the glider.

Hi Jerry,
I wanted to add an auxiliary tank and decided to install a 5-gal tank behind the right seat. I'm a weekend welder and did not want to build a tank from scratch, so installed a round store bought tank. It works great, but only use it when I fly by myself. Also attached the schematic for reference. Good luck with yours.
